Have you ever wanted to travel back in time? Maybe to the 50s? Now it’s possible! How? Just walk through the doors of this magical house in Texas.
Basically unchanged since 1954, this house is an unprecedented journey back to mid-20th-century color and interior design.
Just check out the kitchen bar stools. I’m breathless.
The house, located in Dallas, Texas, has barely changed since it was built in 1954 by architect Gordon Nichols. At the time, the super-modern home was the epitome of interior design. Today, however, it has become an unprecedented journey back in time.
The house is now for sale and for those who can pony up $665,000, this 50s gem can be yours. And speaking of the 50s, it’s only fitting that there’s a pink Cadillac in the driveway. Whether it’s included in the price, however, is unclear.
As soon as you pass through the front door, you know it’s going to be a trip down memory lane. The house’s 50s’ style decor is intact, and those who were around to live it will recognize the turquoise patterns and orange details.
The living room features beautiful colors, an airy feeling, and a magnificent open floor plan.
Color is central to the design of this house. Each room has its own palette. The living room is red…
… And the kitchen boasts warm citrus colors. Just check out how delicious the chairs are!
In the kitchen, you’ll find even more classic associations. Just check out the shelves and bar stools. I’d really like to have these in my kitchen!
The house still has the original cupboards from the 50s. Very nice!
There’s also a second living room, this time with a blue theme. The armchairs have that same futuristic feel that was popular in the 50s.
The office looks like a dream to work in. I’d be more than happy to sit there with a cup of coffee.
The bedroom has a white palette—and a classic circular bed from the good old days.
And don’t worry, the bathroom is also untouched. How thrilling! I really love the turquoise…
The patio is the perfect place for a barbecue with friends and family.
Just imagine spending an afternoon here with a nice book and some good snacks.
And on sunny days, it’s always nice to take a dip in the pool. What a dream home!
Share these photos to give your friends a taste of the 50s, too! Older folks will be nostalgic and your younger friends will marvel at how snazzy the design was back then.
