At a time when people try to hide their age as much as possible, it’s liberating to see someone who completely ignores the idea that they might “too old” to do some things.
To say that you’re only as old as you feel is perhaps a cliché, but it’s true, I think. That’s why I was so happy to see this 90-year-old lady, Dorothy Williams. She had the confidence to stand on stage on “America’s Got Talent” in a stunning red dress with a boa wrapped around her neck. Imagine if everyone had the confidence that she has!
It’s inspiring to see some who believes in her dreams and goes for them even if she isn’t twenty-something anymore.
Ninety-year-old Dorothy charms the judges before the performance, but when she starts singing and dancing, they can’t help but smile. Dorothy revels in making her burlesque routine a little bit risque, and she does it with the perfect twinkle in her eye. Who cares how old you are on paper—this is about the pure joy of living!
