It’s fortunately very unlikely to happen for the vast majority of us – but this said, the slim possibility still exists: cars do become submerged under water and in the worst cases, this can lead to the driver and/or passengers perishing beneath the surface.
That’s why I figure there’s no harm in learning what you need to do in the unlikely event of this happening to you.
In the video below, Dr. Geoff Giesbrecht, an experienced diver and researcher at the University of Manitoba, Canada, reveals the best way to escape your car if for whatever reason your vehicle becomes submerged under water.
He demonstrates how to both save yourself and other passengers. This trick could prove life-saving, as there is more often than not, simply not enough time for rescue workers to make it to you in time to rescue individuals stuck in ther cars.
“The first 30 to 60 seconds is when you have to get out of that vehicle” explains Gordon.
In other words – you have to act fast… And follow these exact steps, as soon as your car hits the water.
Watch the video below to learn more about what to do if this kind of accident occurs – this is both interesting and instructive!
Again, you are pretty unlikely to end up in this situation! But I still think we can help draw attention to the excellent technique presented in this video, so please share it with all your loved ones.
