If you were expecting an ordinary floor, think again.
Imgur user TonyaTooners wasn’t keen on using either wood or laminate floors to redo her living room floor.
So she decided to go with something more creative. And instead of heading to a home improvement store, she went to the nearest bank and exchanged $150 for 15,000 pennies.
TonyaTooners wanted to cover her entire living room floor with pennies. And because she had a pattern in mind, she separate the shiny coins from the dull ones.
With the pennies separated into two bowls, she started arranging them from the center of the room to the corners.
The repetitive work required a lot of patience.
TonyaTooners used a diamond pattern, but as she approached the walls, it was time to reconsider. She settled on a zig-zag pattern.
And eventually, the first corner was done.
From there, she worked along the wall toward the next corner. How marvelous!
Almost there!
With all the coins in place, it was time to clean the floor and finish it with a layer of epoxy.
You think TonyaTooners attention to detail is pretty great, right? Well, take a closer look and check out how the pennies are all lined up in the same direction. Wow!
Finished! A DIY floor made out of coins!
