Hanna Larsson’s small café in the town of Karlstad, Sweden has recently come to full public view, gaining popularity on social media all over the country and elsewhere. It has certainly had something different to offer to its regular patrons. Why? Well penises are behind the success. Yes, literally — the bakery has begun selling penis shaped cake in support of November/Prostate cancer month, with a portion of the proceeds from the penis pastries going toward the fight against prostate cancer.
“Movember” has begun – the notorious month where men grow their mustaches (sometimes hideously:)) all month long to help raise money and awareness for the fight against prostate cancer. And it is in honor of this month that one little bakery in the town of Karlstad, Sweden, has chosen to sell “penis pastries”.
“The reaction has been overwhelmingly positive and there’s been a lot of demand for them,” Johan Lloyd, a pastry baker with 12 years experience told a local newspaper. “We have probably sold about 50 pieces in just one day. We’re really pleased with the outcome. So now we’re baking even more.”
For those interested, the ‘cakes’ contain passion fruit, cream, and a layer of light pink marzipan on top. The basic foundation is sponge cake. According to Johan, the bakery’s staff has been extremely enthusiastic about baking the penises.
“I hope we do the same thing next year as well. It is always good to donate money to a good cause,” Johan tells the local newspaper.
