What do you say to someone when a loved one dies?
Often times we agonize over the perfect thing to say, and sometimes we say nothing at all because we’re simply at a loss.
Even though he’s only four years old, Prince Louis found the exact words needed to comfort his mother, Catherine, the Princess of Wales, as the two mourned the passing of Queen Elizabeth II.
“At least Grannie is with Great Grandpa now.”
Queen Elizabeth’s husband Prince Philip died in April 2021.
The Princess of Wales revealed her son’s words, which she described as “so sweet,” during a visit to Windsor Castle over the weekend.
She, along with Prince William and Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle greeted mourners who came to pay their respects to the Queen.
While speaking with some of the crowd she shared how her youngest offered comforting words following his great-grandmother’s death on September 8.
As the United Kingdom continues to mourn the loss of Her Majesty, Kate reportedly told children who were standing outside Windsor Castle “the whole nation is having to be brave.”
This isn’t the first time Prince Louis has appeared in the spotlight.
In June his funny facial expressions during the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee made the rounds on the internet.
Without knowing it, kids often provide the best kind of comfort. Prince Louis’ words were so sweet.
