The rapid spread of the coronavirus affects people all over the world,
not least in the US. Several cities and states are going into lock-down and – which makes everyday life a challenge.
Right now, the most important thing is to protect our elderly and that is why many of our grandparents are asked to stay in their homes.
But that doesn’t stop us from keeping in touch with our beloved family members. We can buy groceries for them, we can call them or why not write a letter telling them how much they mean to us?
Visiting his 88-year-old dad
You can also do like this son did in Minnesota.
His heart-warming act towards his old father now goes viral, after an employee of an elderly home took an adorable photograph.
Aged-care facility worker Sandy Hamilton posted the beautiful photo on Facebook of Charlie Johnson, who was visiting his 88-year-old dad.
Because of the quarantine, they couldn’t meet in person, but they were instead allowed to talk pair over the phone right outside Bernard Johnson’s window.
“My assisted living is on lockdown so he comes every day to see his dad and they talk through the phone, sweetest thing ever,” the Whispering Pines Assisted Living worker explained.
The heartbreaking moment hit many people right in the heart.
Not surprising, Sandy Hamilton’s post spread like wildfire and has currently been shared over 700,000 times.
”Awesome person”
Many have also commented on the photo and paid tribute to the son for his nice gesture.
“That you did an awesome job bringing such an awesome person into this world,” another commented.
“What a wonderful son you are! Warm my heart,” one person wrote, while another added: “Love conquers all!”
We currently have a very tough time ahead of us, no one knows when we will be able to see our elderly again.
But we can make the most of a bad situation – be proactive in this state of emergency and call your grandmother or grandfather, your mom or dad. Show that you care and ask if you can help in any way.
