Birthday celebrations rang out on Saturday in Macon, Georgia, as a very special woman turned 100 years old surrounded by her friends and family.
As per reports, Agnes Slater was able to mark the incredible milestone with a socially distanced drive-by parade.
Slater, who has five children, was born way back in 1920, and has thus lived through a great deal of change.
The current COVID-19 pandemic meant that she couldn’t be celebrated in perhaps the manner she would have like – an extravagant party was off the cards, for example – but that didn’t stop the local community turning out for her.
According to sources, more than a dozen cars participated in the parade for Agnes, while others dropped off birthday gifts and offered well wishes on her big day.
“This is my mom 100th birthday celebration, so even though through COVD I’ve braved that, got on a plane and I came here because it is a emotional time,” said her daughter.
“It just shows the grace that God has on her and allowed her to live for a hundred years. We’re just excited to be able to be apart of this.”
Needless to say, living to 100 is a fantastic achievement in anyone’s book. Here’s to wishing this inspiring lady many happy returns!
