It is always hard to hear news of a young couple passing away. It is even worse to learn that the couple left behind several children who are now all alone in the world.
These siblings had a traumatic blow to their lives after losing both their parents in such a horrific way.
It was a normal Friday evening for the Sims family. Kevin, “K.D.” and Christain, “CeCe,” Sims were headed to watch their oldest child play in his football game. Then the unexpected happened.
The couple was involved in a multi-car accident along Highway 36 according to Georgia State Patrol. A car struck another car, which in turn swerved out of control and into the car the Sims were in.
Authorities rushed to the scene, and pronounced Mrs. Sims dead at the scene, while Mr. Sims was transported to a hospital and died there.
“Kevin didn’t do anything without ‘CeCe’ wouldn’t do anything without ‘Key,'” Felicia Sims said about her son and his wife.
She tearfully reminisced about the couple, talking about their dedication to one another. The couple had known one another since high school, and according to Felicia Sims, they had spent time building a beautiful life together. Lately, the couple had been doing football coaching and volunteer work together.
“They were born to be together, a couple that brought people together,” Felicia Sims said.
The couple was very involved in the lives of their children and made time for them. They were proud of their children’s athletic abilities and would turn up to support them.

“People have reached out saying they’re going to miss seeing K.D. up and down on the sideline when [his son] plays ball,” Mr. Sim’s mother said.
“If it was your first time meeting him, it’d be like you knew him your whole life. They both were welcoming to everybody,” she went on.
Mr. Sims leaves behind five children, three of whom he shared with his wife CeCe Sims.
Mr. Sim’s mother is trying to find solace in knowing this was all part of a bigger plan, she said, “they served a large purpose in this world. There’s no other reason for them to be gone right now if they didn’t serve their purpose.”
A loved one has set up a GoFundMe page to help the family with expenses for the funeral and for the couple’s orphaned children.
Friends and family are aggrieved about losing such an important part of their family. We send our condolences to them and hope they find some solace.
