Say what you want about Donald Trump – he sure always give us a story to tell.
Donald Trump was groomed to be Piers Morgan’s very first guest on the host’s brand new show, Piers Morgan Uncensored. The controversial British host had departed from his previous show, Good Morning Britain after a highly publicized argument with the show’s weather presenter, Alex Beresford.
Morgan took to Twitter to tease the Trump interview prior to its official release. “It’s a sensational jaw-dropping interview that will make global news for days,” he wrote.
And the promo teaser for the interview certainly seems to substantiate that claim.
A Fiery Debate
Piers Brosnan and Donald Trump sat down to discuss several topics, but none were more fiery than the 2020 election.
While the final interview is not yet released, a sneak peak published on April 20 which begins with the headline, “A former President in Denial” is now spreading like wildfire.
The promo teaser reveals footage of Trump and Brosnan sitting face to face, clearly engaged in a fiery debate.
“I think I’m a very honest man, much more honest than you actually,” Trump says at one point.
“It was a free and fair race. You lost,” Morgan tells Trump.
“Only a fool would think that,” Trump replies.
A clearly annoyed Trump is later heard impatiently demanding they finish the interview. The upset former US president is then seen getting up from his chair and removing his microphone. “Very dishonest,” he mutters.
The Debate Continues
Following the promo teaser release, Piers posted a tweet revealing a little bit more information about the arguments that had unfolded between himself and Trump.
“Sorry you got so annoyed that I don’t believe the 2020 election was rigged or stolen from you, but as I said, where’s your proof? If you have it, show us – or accept the result and move on,” he wrote.
According to Morgan, the interview got heated and Trump ‘abruptly jumped to his feet’ and demanded the cameras be switched off before leaving the room and later reportedly calling him a ‘scumbag’.
“Fake News”
Trump has already fiercely reacted to the promo video in a statement released April 20, brandishing Morgan’s new show as being “like the rest of Fake News Media” and accusing the host of attempting to “unlawfully and deceptively edit his long and tedious interview” with him.
“He wanted to make it look like I walked out on the interview when my time limit of 20 minutes went over by an hour,” the statement said. “The good news is that the interview was taped by us as a means of keeping him honest.”
Trump goes on to mention the “2020 Election Fraud”, stating: “The evidence is massive and irrefutable (check out Truth the Vote and the Dinesh D’Souza documentary, which will all be coming out soon).”
Piers Morgan Uncensored, dubbed as ‘a fearless forum for lively, intelligent debate and agenda-setting interview’, launches on TalkTV on 25 April at 8:00pm.
If anything positive can be said about this promo teaser, it’s that it sure was effective in making me want to tune into the full interview!
