If you are a fan of the show American Idol, or even just a fan of country music then you probably know who Scott McCreery is. The singer won the tenth season of American Idol.
The young man with a big voice who graced our screens is now a father and he could not be happier about it…
A lot of us might remember Scott McCreery when he appeared on the tenth season of American Idol almost a decade ago. The country singer was only a teenager when he snagged the title of American Idol.
He married his longtime girlfriend Gabi Dugal on June 16, 2018. He talked about Gabi and his union, saying, “We’ve been dating six years and have known each other our whole lives. That kind of story doesn’t happen too often nowadays,”
Now a decade later, he is 29 years old, and a married man. And as of October 24, at 4:34 AM, he became a father too! He and his wife Gabi welcomed their son Merrick Avery McCreery in Raleigh, North Carolina.
The parents could not be happier at welcoming their bundle of joy. The baby is named after Gabi’s father, Merrick (Tre) Dugal III. However, the baby will be called Avery.
McCreery released a PR statement to update the public and his fans about the health of the baby and his wife. The statement read, “Next to his mother, he is the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen. We have been waiting and preparing all year, and now we are so excited to have our little man here with us. We have begun a grand new adventure that will continue for the rest of our lives.”

He went on to add, “Gabi was a total rock star during Avery’s birth. I could not be more proud of her. She has already taken to motherhood like a champ. Part of my joy as his Dad is watching Gabi already crush it as his Mom.”
He was also ecstatic about furthering his family line, he added a comment saying, “I’m no longer the last male McCreery. It’s up to Avery now.”
The country singer is taking some time off from his busy schedule to spend time with his wife and newborn son. He will get back on the road on November 30 for his show in Las Vegas at the Downtown Hoedown on Fremont Street.
His latest single, “It Matters to Her,” which he co-wrote with Rhett Akins and Lee Thomas Miller, has charted in the Top 50 on Billboard Country Airplay Charts. This single came after his smash hit “Damn Strait,” which was number 1 for three weeks straight.
His album, Same Truck: The Deluxe Album is set to release on November 18 in Vinyl, CD, and digital formats. The album will contain never heard before tracks for fans.
