According to reports, 19-year-old Ochoa-Lopez was lured to a home under the pretence of getting free baby clothes on April 23. Instead, she was murdered, and her baby, named Yovanny, was cut from her womb.
Ochoa-Lopez’s family had been at little Yovanny’s bedside as he fought for life, but sadly the baby passed away after almost two months in intensive care at the hospital.

Three people have been charged in connection with Ochoa-Lopez’s murder. 46-year-old Clarisa Figueroa and her daughter Desiree Figuroa, 26, stand accused of strangling the teenager to death and cutting Yovanny from her womb in their home.
The police have confirmed that Clarisa showed up at the hospital with the infant shortly after the murder. Clarisa’s boyfriend, meanwhile, Piotr Bobak, has been charged with concealing the homicide and thus preventing the course of justice.
This world can be such a cruel place sometimes, and cases like this simply make me wonder how things will ever get better.
We’re sending all of our prayers to the family of Marlen Ochoa-Lopez and little Yovanny.
