The boxer who has always been incredibly fit feels he is nearing the end of his life now and is getting philosophical about life and what it truly means…
Mike Tyson has had a legendary career in boxing and beyond. The 56-year-old has seen it all, he has fought amazing matches, acted in movies, written books, and much more.
The boxer also hosts a podcast titled “Hotboxin’ with Mike Tyson.” The podcast features a guest and the host and guest discuss everything under the sun. Tyson invited guest Sean McFarland, a therapist who specializes in trauma and addiction.
The host got pretty deep with his guest and confided in him that he believes he is close to death. The boxer said, “We’re all gonna die one day of course,” Tyson said. “Then, when I look in the mirror, I see those little spots on my face, I say, ‘Wow. That means my expiration date is coming close, really soon.’”
He also spoke about the fact that money did not bring happiness. The age-old question is often philosophized by many around the world. The boxer who has had it all, weighed in with his two cents as well.
He said he believed that money did not bring happiness or security at all.
Tyson said, “Money don’t mean s–t to me.” “I always tell people — they think money’s gonna make them happy, they’ve never had money before — when you have a lot of money, you can’t expect nobody to love you. How am I gonna confess my love to you when you have $500 billion?”
“The false sense of security. You believe nothing can happen. You don’t believe the banks could collapse. You believe that you’re invincible when you have a lot of money, which isn’t true. That’s why I always say money is a false sense of security,” he concluded.
Mike Tyson fully believes that money does not bring happiness or even security. The boxer revealed he had conversations about money with his wife, Lakiha Spicer about money. He said his wife told him she wanted money for security.
He said, “What is security? I don’t know. When you put money in your bank and you get a check every week and you can live for the rest of your life, is that security? That means you won’t catch a disease, you can’t get hit by a car? You can’t jump off a bridge. I don’t know. Is that security? Can money secure you from that?”
The legendary boxer really did ask some great questions which make you wonder whether anyone is immune to tough times.
Mike Tyson surely did get philosophical about his life on earth and what it means to be secure.
