Certain songs go straight to the heart the first time you hear them. Sometimes, it’s a particularly catchy melody, and other times it’s the lyrics that does it. The first time I heard Guy Penrod and Sarah Darling perform their duet “Knowing What I Know About Heaven,” I got goosebumps. The song’s beautiful message immediately made me think of all the people in my life who have sadly passed on. Listening to the heavenly voices of Penrod and Darling, I couldn’t help but think that my deceased loved ones were looking down from a safe place and smiling. I know this should’ve just made me feel joy, but I have to admit, it was bittersweet because it also made me miss them dearly. The version of this song that I want to share with you is from Guy Penrod and Sarah Darling’s performance at the 2013 Inspirational Country Music Awards in Nashville, Tennessee.
