Going to a concert is always fun, but it’s also expensive. And if you go to one of the bigger arenas, the artist is often so far away that you can hardly see them.
If you’re only going to be able to see them on the big screen, it sometimes feels as though you may as well just watch the concert at home on TV.
I love live music, so when I pass a street musician I always take a moment to stop and enjoy the performance before hurrying on with my day.
And of course, I always leave a donation to the artist.
One street musician, Henry Facey, got the shock of his life one day when he was performing at his usual spot in Piccadilly Circus in London.
He had his guitar case at his feet ready to accept a few donations from the crowd.
Although Rod Stewart is now a huge star known around the world, he started his career as a street musician.
He just happened to be strolling through Piccadilly Circus when he passed Henry, who was performing Rod’s song ‘Handbags and Gladrags’ on the guitar. He couldn’t pass up the chance to perform the duet, and asked the musician if he could borrow his microphone.
It become a fantastic improvised performance, and as soon as passers-by realized who was performing, a huge crowd gathered to watch.
It’s great to see an artist who usually brings in hundreds of dollars per concert ticket give an impromtu performance for free!
Take a look at the clip below – and enjoy!
Share this clip with your Facebook friends so they can also enjoy this improvised performance! Rod Stewart is a true entertainer!
