When you’re blessed with passion and talent, you’re sure to get far. Just ask Amira Willighagen.
The Dutch girl first dreamed of becoming an opera singer as a 7-year-old. It’s not exactly something you just pick up, but Amira was determined. She sat in front of the computer and watched video after video of famous opera singers, singing along and copying their every move.
Two years later, without having taken a single music lesson, Amira won “Holland’s Got Talent” with her powerful pipes. She had set her mind on winnning—and she succeeded.
Amira quickly became a worldwide sensation. And in this clip, the vocal powerhouse joins André Rieu and the Johann Strauss Orchestra onstage in Maastricht, Holland. With her beautiful interpretation of “O Mio Babbino Caro,” the young singer enthralls 10,000 spectators right from her first note—and I, for one, couldn’t help but tear up a little when I heard her beautiful voice.
Amira’s performance starts the one minute mark.
Please share this clip with your friends who love music so that they also get a chance to hear this young sensation.
