What’s more thrilling than someone celebrating a milestone birthday like their 100th? Celebrating their milestone birthday with their twin sister!
Evelyn Lowe and Elaine Foster of Bowie, Maryland recently turned 100 and shared their tips for living a long and healthy life.
“I don’t feel like I’m old or tired or run down,” one of the sisters said. “Fifty I felt fine, and I feel like I’m 50 years old. I don’t know.”
“Probably because we took care of ourselves,” the other said matter-of-factly.
‘Well, that could have been it.’
How have the twins managed to stay so healthy for so long?
A little bit of genes – their mother lived to be 103 years old – a little bit of a healthy lifestyle, and a little bit of a positive attitude.
Cheri Kidd, Elaine’s granddaughter, told FOX 5 Washington DC, that her grandmother said it was important to eat bacon and eggs every morning.
She also added that “drinking beer and sangria helps you healthy and live longer.”
Evelyn and Elaine, who were born on March 31, 1921, celebrated their birthdays like many have during the pandemic with a car parade.
They were also showered with love from some of their many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Despite their age, Kidd said the twins are quite tech-savvy. They each have an iPhone, which they use, and both know how to use a computer not only to pay their bills, but to play computer games.
“We’re very blessed to have them for this long.”
Happy 100th birthday, Evelyn and Elaine!
