Autumn Fox, the baby girl who needed a heart transplant to survive, has sadly passed away.
Earlier this year, we shared Autumn’s story, detailing how she was hooked to life support in a cardiovascular ICU. She lived her days amongst a labyrinth of tubes and machines, having been born with a series of health problems.
Nevertheless, mom Nicole Smith remained resilient and resourceful in the face of adversity. She set up a GoFundMe Page to help cover Autumn’s medical bills. Unfortunately, it was via that page that she recently confirmed her baby had gained her angel wings.
In a heartbreaking post designed to update those who have been following and supporting Autumn throughout her valiant battle, Nicole wrote: “We just wanted to let everyone know that our precious Autumn has gained her angel wings at 12:30am we are just trying to process all of this right now and we will post more later fly high baby mommy and daddy loves you thanks everyone that has prayed and been there for us during this journey Autumn fought a good fight❤️❤️”
Mom Nicole had hoped her baby girl could make a recovery, but in the end the sheer extent of her issues made it an impossible battle.
She herself had been forced to uproot their family in order to help pay for the day-to-day care of her daughter.
In a further post, Nicole wrote:
“This is really hard for me to write guys I am just in so much pain right now words just can’t describe how heart breaking it is to lose a child but I know she is looking down on us with that precious little smile and them big brown eyes running around playing without iv’s cords and wires protruding from her precious little body and she is no longer suffering we wanted to post a few pictures of her last moments with some of her family!
“Ya’ll have been instrumental in helping our family cope with this we thank each and everyone of you for such kind words in our greatest time of need any donation from this point will be used for Autumn’s Memorial Service that will take place in the next couple of weeks god bless you all.”
Rest in peace, baby Autumn! We hope you’re at peace now.
