There are few moments I remember as well as my high school prom. The beautiful dress, the limo, and an unforgettable night with all of my friends and classmates before we graduated and went our separate ways.
For Cassie, prom was also special, but it was perhaps even more special for her grandmother Dottie.
When Dottie saw her granddaughter in her gown for the first time, she was speechless. Then, she noticed something that caused the tears to flow down her cheeks.
When Cassie was getting ready to go to her high school prom, she knew she wanted to wear something special.
It wasn’t enough that the dress be beautiful – Cassie wanted it to be vintage, and her style was directly inspired by her grandmother Dottie.
The day of the prom, Cassie’s entire family, including her grandmother Dottie, was there to see her off. And Dottie, in particular, couldn’t wait to see Cassie’s dress.
Then suddenly, Cassie came out of the house wearing the dress. When Dottie caught sight of it, she didn’t know what to say. It was a dress she recognized, and the tears started pouring down her cheeks.
The dress Cassie was wearing was the same one her grandmother woreto her own prom back in the 50s .
Cassie’s grandma had given her the dress when she was little, but she assumed that Cassie just used it to play dress up. But oh, was she ever wrong.
Cassie had kept her secret well, and only her grandmother didn’t know about the wonderful surprise.
Her grandmother’s reaction was caught on video – and her reaction is just wonderful. It’s so nice to see that a little gift she gave her granddaughter 10-15 years earlier gave her so much joy again.
