Every day, throngs of young boys and girls head to school with a lump in their throats. They are perceived as “different” and they’re forced to put up with nasty comments and glances from bullies—even before they set foot on their school campus.
So when bus driver Cindy Clausen saw how two siblings were treating a disabled boy, she couldn’t just stand idly by on the sideline.
Cindy wrote a note to the children’s parents—and her moving message is currently spreading around the internet liike wildfire.
When a child comes home from school with a note, it usually means they’ve been slacking off, playing hooky, or even worse: bullying their classmates.
So when siblings Annaliese and Jorge returned home from school one day with a letter, their parents didn’t know what to think.
The note was from the children’s bus driver—but it wasn’t the typical letter of warning about a child’s bad behavior.
On the contrary, bus driver Cindy Clausen had only positive things to say about Annaliese and Jorge. She had seen how the siblings continually show love and care for their disabled classmate who was otherwise at outcast at school.
The children helped the boy feel the joy of going to school again—and Cindy wanted to thank Annaliese and Jorge’s parents for raising two wonderful children.
Cindy’s letter to parents Jorge Sr. and Leonor has received thousands of responses and shares since it was posted on the Love What Matters Facebook page a few days ago. Read it here:
“Dear Jorge and Leonor,
I am compelled to write to tell you how beautiful your children are, inside and out! This can only come from the home, your patience and guidance, the examples that you set and teach.
I have a child on my bus named Jackson. Both of your children have shown him much compassion and support. Every day your children ask if they can sit with Jackson.
Some days Jackson is a little sad getting on the bus but as soon as he sees Annaliese and Jorge he smiles. Jackson has difficulties walking and it takes a bit for him to get to his seat.
Today Annaliese looked out from around her seat and said, ‘Come on, Jackson. You can do it,’ and when we arrived at school Jorge took it upon himself to carry out his backpack!
I know you know how wonderful your children are, but I wanted you to know that it shows!

Jorge Sr. and Leonor have done a wonderful job raising their children—and they couldn’t be more proud of Annaliese and Jorge, who really know how to behave toward other people.
At a time when we rarely show concern for our fellow human beings, it’s extremely uplifting to read about young children who make the world a better place.
