I can vividly remember the first time I went to see a scan of my baby.
I’m sure every mom can. It’s an incredibly proud moment; one that’s perfectly unique, and made all the more special for it.
One mom was given quite the shock, however, when she went for her 24-week scan and saw a “devil baby” staring back at her.
Iyanna Carrington, of Richmond, Virginia, was excitedly anticipating the 24-week scan of her baby. She couldn’t wait to find out whether her unborn bundle of joy was a boy or a girl.
What she didn’t expect, however, was a rather sinister image to appear on the screen. Even so, Iyanna is completely besotted.
“I’d never seen anything like it. I love this devil baby so much already,” Iyanna said.
“I was going to see whether she was a boy or girl. They showed her face and she looked normal, then the nurse confirmed she was a girl, but I knew that deep down already.
“Then they put it back on her face and she was just looking right at me like that.
“I said ‘she looks like a ghost’ in the doctor’s office and the doctor said ‘yeah, that’s very normal’. She looked a bit crazy.”
Real life baby
Iyanna proceeded to share the picture of her unborn baby on social media, where a great many people refused to believe the scan was real.
Iyanna’s not deterred though. “Most babies hide from the camera. She looked towards straight at me and she scared me a bit because the room was dark,” she said.
“I don’t know why she looked like that. Some people from the internet thought she was fake, but that’s my real life baby there.”
A real life baby it certainly is, even if she does look a little … different.
All children are blessed in the eyes of our Lord. Iyanna’s is no different!
