‘Perfectly healthy’ 5-year-old girl dies within 15 hours of COVID diagnosis

When 5-year-old Tagan was diagnosed with COVID the doctor reassured her parents that because she was young she’d be okay.

But within 15 hours of receiving the diagnosis Tagan’s parents Lastassija White and Quincy Drone suffered every parent’s nightmare, their “perfectly healthy” girl had passed away.

“This doctor told us that our child would be fine, and our child didn’t even make it 24 hours. She died within the next 15 hours,” Tagan’s dad Quincy told Myhighplains.com.

The family, from Texas, said his daughter was a “perfectly healthy” girl who always wore a mask but hadn’t been feeling well for a while.

Her parents took her to the doctor where she tested positive for COVID-19.

“My daughter was perfectly healthy. Perfectly healthy,” her mom Lastassija told Myhighplains.com. “There’s no way that should have happened.

“I mean it was just mistakes made… too many mistakes made that cost a 5-year-old her life,” Quincy added.

Over 1 million children in the U.S. have tested positive for COVID-19 since the pandemic, according to the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP).

Children are 0.00% to 0.21% of all COVID-19 deaths, and 16 states reported zero child deaths, according to a report by the AAP.

COVID-19 has killed more than 250,000 and infected more than 11 million people in the U.S. and more than 1.3 million people worldwide, according to Johns Hopkins data.

My heart goes out to Tagan’s family, how do you go on after losing a child? Wishing her parents strength going forward. Rest in peace Tagan.

This virus is unpredictable and none of us know all the underlying health conditions we have so are all at risk from suffering severe complications should we contract it.

We need to wear a mask, keep our distance and keep as healthy as possible until a vaccine becomes widely available. Please share.
