Birthdays are a special part of every kid’s childhood, and the wonderful memories they are treasured for a lifetime.
But for one little boy, his special day almost became a disaster—until the local police department stepped in to save the day. And thanks to the officers’ kindness, the boy had a party he will never forget.
Glenn Buratti is a little boy from St. Cloud, Florida. He suffers from epilepsy and a mild form of autism. But like any other child, he looks forward to his birthday. So last year, his mother, Ashlee, invited his 16 classmates to a party to celebrate his birthday.
But when the big day arrived, no one came. Glenn was devastated and his mother went on Facebook to express her frustration.
“I know this might be something silly to rant about, but my heart is breaking for my son,” she wrote on Facebook. “He keeps asking ‘when will my friends get here?'”
And soon her post reached the Osceola County sheriff’s office.
Soon, some police officers and fire fighters showed up with their children to help Glenn celebrate.
And they brought gifts.
Glenn got to ride in a police car.
And hang out with the police officers and firefighters.
“Glenn just smiled the whole time and waved,” Ashlee Buratti told CBS News. “It was amazing.”
“The people who came out were so awesome,” Buratti said.
