Nadya Suleman, ‘Octomom,’ shares back-to-school picture of her octuplets on their first day of 8th grade

The summer is coming to an end, which means kids have either already returned to school or they will be in the coming weeks.

So chances are you’ve already seen a handful of back-to-school photos on social media, each one marking the beginning of a new school year.

Recently, Nadya Suleman, also known as “Octomom,” shared a photo of her octuplets, who made headlines in 2009, on their first day of eighth grade.

It’s a tradition she started several years back and gives fans a look at how much the children have grown over the years!

“Be proud of yourselves kids for being kind, respectful, and helpful to all your fellow peers, teachers and staff. You are exceptional role models to the 6th and 7th graders. I love you,” she captioned the photo.

In 2009, Suleman became an internet sensation when she gave birth to eight babies.

She was already a mother to six children.

At the time, she was given the nickname Octomom, a name she “shamefully embraced.”

“I never coined the term Octomom,” she told Inside Edition in 2017.

Following the birth of her children, who were all given Biblical names and the same middle names, the media constantly followed her around.

“All I wanted was children. I wanted to be a mom. That’s all I ever wanted in my life. I love my children,” she said.

For years she struggled with her public image and holding a steady job, but despite her hardships she never regretted her children.

“I made these poor decisions. I don’t regret my children, any of them. I don’t know what I’d do without any of my fourteen kids. But I was so desperate, and so I sold out my character,” she said in 2019.

These days things have changed. While at times Suleman still struggles to feed and take care of 14 children, the only critics that matter to her are her children. And they think she does a fine job.

“I do the best I can and, in all honesty, if anyone out there wants to point the finger and project some type of judgment, you’re absolutely entitled to try to live a day in my life. You’ve got to do what you’ve got to do to survive and provide for your family.”

They’re all so grown up! I believe all the criticism that was placed on Nadya was completely unnecessary. It can’t be easy raising so many children.
