When a new baby comes into the world, it’s always cause for celebration.
As everyone knows – delivering a child can sometimes be a risky business. Complications aren’t all that uncommon during pregnancy, and a number of factors can contribute. These include decisions made by the family, economic difficulties and social backgrounds, as well as freak accidents that can occur on the day.
Because having a child, on the whole, can be a difficult thing to do, it’s always important to have a strong and supportive group around you.
Given the magnitude of creating another life, it’s no wonder many people look for signs and signals during pregnancy – when they see something that tells them things are going to be OK, they latch onto it.
With that in mind, if what happened in this story can’t be considered a sign, I don’t know what can!
On July 21, 2017, Jordyn jumped into a car and went to the hospital.
She was pregnant, but hadn’t thought her child would arrive until the end of the month – something had changed very quickly.
Her son was ready to come out that moment.
When she got to the hospital, doctors told her she would require an acute caesarean section. Despite ensuing complications, doctors completed a successful surgery – it took 24 hours all in all.
Beauden Matthew James Eppard was born healthy and weighing 8.5Ibs.
And yet there was something significant about Beauden’s birthday – something that Jordyn and her family knew was a sign…
Beauden not only shared his birthday with his father, but he also shared it with his grandfather as well!
Birthday paradox
If you share a birthday with someone you knowm, it’s common to make a big deal out of it. As one would probably guess, it’s seems quite rare to have two people who share a birthday in the same circle.
In actual fact, however, the probability lies at 50% that at least two people in a randomly selected group of 23 people will share the same birthday.
As you increase that pool to 75 people, the probability rises to an incredible 99.9 percent. This is what’s known as the birthday paradox.
Even so, little Beauden’s birthday coincidence was very, very rare.
The odds that the boy would have the same birthday as both his father and grandfather is a staggering 1 in 33,000. Wow!
Above all else, stories such as this can’t help but fill people with a sense of wonder.
Perhaps it’s a tendency of the human brain to find patterns, but there’s something about this story that’s difficult to simply disregard – especially when you consider that Beauden was born two weeks earlier than expected.
Whether you’re spiritual, believe in God or choose to side with fate: Beauden’s birthday – and the details surrounding it – are something to behold.
