Finding out that you’re going to welcome a new baby into your family isn’t just wonderful news for mom and dad. Kids also love finding out that they’re going to have a new little sibling.
Just ask five-year-old Ethan. When he got the surprise of his life, his reaction completely melted the internet’s heart.
In the clip, which has racked up more than 7 million views on YouTube, we meet five-year-old Ethan.
His mom, Sarah, has been waiting for the right moment to tell him that he’s going to be a big brother — but she just can’t waiting any longer.
After she parks her car, Sarah hands her son two photos from her ultrasound…
And it’s not just Ethan’s endearing British accent that makes the clip so lovable — his reaction is absolutely wonderful.
First, Ethan asks if the pictures are of him. And his mom replies that they’re actually of his new little brother or sister.
Ethan lights up and grins ear to ear. Over and over again, he asks his mother if she’s serious. Then about 50 seconds into the clip, he burst out laughing, “I’m gonna be a new big brother!”
Ethan’s adorable quotes keep coming.
After repeatedly asking, “I hope you’re not joking,” he delivers a message to the baby: “He can’t sleep in my bed!” and then he lights up again and says, “I’m gonna tell my teacher!”
It’s sweet that the little boy shows such his mother so much respect and consideration after she tells him the big news.
