Mom Is Brought To Tears After Her Autistic Son Receives A Special Birthday Invitation.

Though 7-year-old Timothy has trouble interacting with others, especially in large groups, he enjoys the same things that other kids do, like swimming, playing soccer, and watching YouTube videos. Timothy was diagnosed with nonverbal autism at two, and as such, his mother, Tricia Klein, has worked tirelessly to help her son overcome his daily challenges. And while alone time isn’t too hard, meetings with other children can be hard—especially since other parents don’t always understand what how Timothy sees and interacts with the world. That’s why Tricia has had to turn down invitations to organized sports, play dates, sleep overs, and even birthday parties. But one day last year, Tricia received an invitation that brought her to tears. “It was an ugly cry for me that day,” Tricia Klein of Brantford, Ontario, told ABC News. “Yes, I was shocked that someone would take not only the time to write the note, but to be considerate enough to include him with all of his difficulties. It was a wonderful moment.” See the touching invitation below.

Here is mother Tricia Klein and her son Timothy.

Tricia shared this moving birthday invitation story on her Facebook page, The Book of Timothy, last summer. But it was in 2016 that the touching post and invitation really took off and quickly went viral.

The note was written by one of Timothy’s classmates mom, Ainsley Peikos. Here’s what she wrote:

“Carter sat beside Timothy at school and he always talks about him. I really hope he can come. We are renting a bounce castle that we can attach a small bounce slide at the bottom. We will also have water balloons and water guns. Maybe Timothy can come earlier in the day if it would be too much with the whole class. Let me know so we can make it work.”

“Carter has always talked about him,” Ainsley later told ABC News. “The only question was how we could make it work so that Timothy could come over and have as much fun as everyone else.”

What a heart! Such a simple gesture, yet such great impact. I was absolutely moved by this, and I don’t even personally know any of the people in this story. I can only imagine how Tricia felt receiving this kind note. Share if you were also touched by this birthday invitation!
