Are television dads the best or what?
It’s easy to become attached to fictional on-screen fathers when we grow up watching them. Take Danny Tanner from Full House for example – portrayed by Bob Saget – a firm fan favourite for many adults who watched him when they were kids.
But while Tanner was a part of Full House’s success, he wasn’t the only reason it was popular. Far from it, in fact. The show was such a staple of 90s television culture that Netflix has chosen to give it a reboot via a fourth season entitled Fuller House.
The Olsen twins might not be gracing the show with their presence, but plenty of the old cast have happily answered the call, including Uncle Joey (Dave Coulier), Aunt Becky (Lori Loughlin) and everyone’s favorite, Uncle Jesse Katsopolis (John Stamos).

Sure, it may have taken Uncle Jesse’s character a while to adjust to life as a dad, but it would appear its taken Stamos little time at all. He and his wife, Caitlin McHugh, welcomed a son, William “Billy” Christopher, to the world on April 10, 2018.
With this year being Stamos’ first opportunity to celebrate Father’s Day, he took full advantage of the occasion to share a rather special photo on social media. Little Billy hadn’t been seen properly by Stamos’ fans, but his most recent Instagram post revealed his son’s face.
Stamos’ post was accompanied by the caption: “My first Father’s Day means I don’t have to hand a kid back to the parents when someone yells cut. It means when people ask me if I’m a father, I don’t have to use the goofy line, “No, but I play one on TV” My first Father’s Day means that for the rest of my life, I’ll always be known as someone’s dad. And that’s all I ever wanted. Happy Father’s day.”
He may be 54, but Stamos isn’t letting his age stop him from achieving his dream.
In a recent interview he said: “It’s just beautiful. I’ve cried most days.”
It’s fair to say Stamos’ thoughts on parenthood have gone down a storm. His Instagram post has racked up almost 430,000 likes in just one day, with thousands of people praising him for his candid show of emotion.
What a wonderful post from Stamos, and how great it is to see another happy father.
