Let’s take a trip down memory lane to 2010 and 44-year-old mother of two, Dawn Williams — a woman who you could not miss in your neighborhood or anywhere for that matter.
You see, Dawn had a very unique look. She didn’t look like the other moms in her suburban neighborhood.
With large silicone breasts, bleached blonde hair extensions and a rather fake tan, Dawn had reached the point where she herself admitted that her appearance was perhaps a bit “excessive”.
But while she was comfortable in her style, her two teenage children were embarrassed by their mother’s look.
Dawn, who lives in Canada, had spent her entire young adult life creating the look she had always dreamed of having — looking like a real-life Barbie doll.
Her kids however were not too pleased and often embarrassed by their mother’s extreme look. At the end of the day Dawn obviously wanted her son and daughter to be proud of her.
So, Dawn decided to accept the help of makeover guru Carson Kressley. Carson encouraged her to remove her thick layers of makeup, change her style and stop wearing over-revealing outfits. He wanted her to look more like a mother of two should.
After her “makeunder” and a brand-new look, Dawn took the stage on the Oprah Winfrey show. For the first time ever, her children got to see a much softer and more natural version of their mother.
Wait until you see her yourself — it’s really hard to believe that it’s the same person!
In the clip, you can see how shocked everyone in the audience is at the first sight of the woman.
We often see incredible makeovers with people getting done up to feel more beautiful and proud of themselves.
But a “makeunder”, where stylists actually tone down makeup and the overall look is probably less common.
I think that’s why I think this transformation was extra nice to see — and I hope you liked it too.
