She was outgoing, adventurous, and fearless. But when her mom brought a new man into the family when she was 10 years old, the girl known in the video below as FA completely shut down. She stopped eating, she stopped sleeping, and her life became one of fear and locked doors. And if it weren’t for a crew of heroic bikers, FA’s living hell would have continued for a long time. When Bikers Against Child Abuse (BACA), a non-profit with a mission to empower victims of child abuse, rolled up into her driveway, FA didn’t know what to expect. “There’s just all these bikes,” FA says in the video. “There’s these huge, tall men and they were in their vests and their boots, huge beards and strong-looking women. They looked very tough.” But FA soon appreciated their presence in her life. The BACA crew brought her to school, gave her rides to court (where she eventually had to testify against her stepdad), and even stood guard in front of her house at night so she could sleep again. The effect was powerful. FA now says, “BACA pretty much turned me into the woman that I am today. I’ve been able to overcome so many things that I knew I wouldn’t have been able to overcome without them.” Watch the video below to see these bikers carry out their important mission.
If you appreciate the work these bikers are doing on behalf of abused children, please share!
