He Looks Into The Camera And Says He Isn’t Black. 16 Seconds Later, He Reveals What Everyone Needs To Know.

“I am not black. I mean, that’s what the world calls me but it’s not me. I didn’t come out of my mother’s womb saying hey everybody, I’m black. No, I was taught to be black. And you were taught to call me that along with whatever you call yourself – it’s just a label.” So begins Prince Ea’s rap – or you might even call it rant- on YouTube. He discusses racism and how we put labels on people based on their appearance. The video has taken the internet by storm, with over six million YouTube views. Listen – and you will question how we look at people.

We live in a world full of prejudices, where people are judged by how they look. “Who would you be if the world never gave you a label?” Prince Ea asks in his video.

This video question just that. Who are you to put a label on me? And who am I to put a label on you? What would we be if we did not have labels on us? This all really made me think. We should all try to get to know people better and not judge them with just a glance, or after just a word. If we try a little more to talk to people from different cultures, religions and ethnicities, our prejudices crumble and who knows – perhaps could we even make unexpected friends for life.

I personally thought his message was pretty important and worth sharing! Do the same if you agree.
