An employee has been fired from an Alabama living facility after a disturbing video reportedly showed her poking a deceased resident in the eye.
As per reports, the video was shared to social media, but is too graphic to show. WKRG claim an elderly woman who appears to have recently passed away can be seen lying under a blank.
A female employee dressed in scrubs then approaches the woman, laughing in her face and proceeding to poke her in the eye.
Erin Thompson, executive director of The Brennity, released a statement on the matter saying how shocked the establishment was.
She said: “We can confirm that this video was recorded by one of our associates at The Brennity at Daphne. First and foremost, we find the actions in this video to be completely unacceptable, inappropriate and not in line with our Resident First philosophy that we strictly uphold at our communities.
“We can confirm that this associate is no longer with Sagora Senior Living (Brennity’s parent company).”

It should go without saying that this is absolutely unacceptable, and that the offender needs to face justice. Can you imagine leaving your loved one in the hands of a facility where this happens?
I don’t know what I’d do if a member of my family passed away and their body was treated with such absolute disregard.
