Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has confirmed that he has contracted COVID-19, along with the rest of his family.
In an Instagram post on Wednesday, the Hollywood actor and former WWE star told how he, wife Lauren Hashian, and their two small daughters have been suffering with coronavirus but are now “on the other end of it.”
Johnson said: “I can tell you that this has been one of the most challenging and difficult things we have ever had to endure as a family.”
The 48-year-old admitted that he and Lauren had endured a rougher time than their young daughters, but reassured fans: “We as a family are good … We are no longer contagious and we are, thank God, we are healthy.”
Opening up on the details of their infection, Johnson said that they had caught COVID-19 from a close family friend, and were devastated to find out they had tested positive.
“Wear your mask. It is a fact, and it is the right thing to do, and it’s the responsible thing to do,” he said.
Indeed, the fear-mongering around the potential effects of COVID-19 may have died down a little, but this virus remains a very real and very present issue.
One only needs to take a look at the statistics to see that there are still a lot of people losing their lives and families being torn apart during the ongoing pandemic.
We’re wishing all the very best to Dwayne Johnson and his family during this difficult time, and indeed to all the families who have been affected by coronavirus.
