Sometimes life can surprise us in the most abrupt of manners.
Althea Brown knows this all too well, after reportedly receiving a call at work informing her a newborn baby had been dumped on her doorstep.
As per Metro, the one-day-old was left wrapped up alongside an ominous note that read: “I had him in the bathroom. His dad tried to kill us.”

The tiny boy was left on the doorstep of an apartment at the Willow Key complex in Orlando, Florida on Saturday.
A hand-written note was also present, one that carried a message of warning.
“I had him in the bathroom alone. His dad tried to kill us. Please keep him secret and take him to hospital.
“Dad a very dangerous man. I’m so sorry. I tried to clean him and feed him.”
No mom found
The note states that the baby was born on July 19, which the writer refers to as “yesterday”, making the baby just one-day-old.
The boy was left at the house of Althea Brown, though she was at work when he was discovered.
Speaking to News 6, Althea said: “When I heard it, I wish I was there. Maybe I’d take that baby in. Not to adopt it, but to foster it or something.
“It’s incomprehensible to me. I don’t know if it’s a neighbor or not or if it was just somebody that decided to use this place as their escape.”

Police are said to have canvassed the local area, asking residents if they had recently seen any pregnant women, but authorities are yet to find the mother.
Meanwhile, the newborn himself was taken to Arnold Palmar Hospital for Children and is said to be in good health.
We sincerely hope this baby’s mother is found, as much for her own safety and health as that of her baby’s.
For a mom to leave her one-day-old baby on the steps of a stranger’s house shows the true difficulty of the situation she must have been in.
