A father and his three-year-old daughter have been shot and killed inside a family home in Kentucky.
The toddler was shot while playing in her “Frozen” dollhouse and was rushed to hospital where she later died, according to The Seattle Times, citing AP News.
Her 21-year-old father Brandon Waddles died at the scene after being shot multiple times at the family-owned home in Louisville.
Both the victims’ deaths have been ruled as homicide.
“My beautiful niece, Trinity [Randolph] was murdered at her grandmother’s home, shot to death at only 3 years old,” Tyasia Lashay, a family member wrote on a GoFundMe page.
“A fun loving energetic soul whose life was snatched along with her fathers. This was very unexpected,” she added.
The girl’s grandfather, Tyronn Howlett, said Trinity was playing in her “Frozen” dollhouse when she was shot, as per AP News citing the Courier Journal.
“It’s just sad and senseless,” he told agency WLKY News.
“Children don’t have anything to do with it,” he added. “They are innocent people, and they should never be in whatever an adult has going on between that.”
Trinity and her father leave behind a mother and a 1-month old baby.
Waddles was a local music artist who went by the name “DareallilB,” according to Wave3 News.
’16 fatal shootings in two weeks’
Rapper and businessman Master P has offered to pay for the funeral.
“This a 3-year-old innocent girl that’s gone from her family, from her future, somebody who could have come out of the community and be the next president, doctor, lawyer, teacher,” he told the Courier Journal. “This is sad.”
Community activist Christopher 2X, told Wave 3 News the total amount of homicides in the area between Aug. 1 to Aug. 14 already add up to 16 fatal shootings.
My heart goes out to the family of this innocent child who should never have had her life taken away so soon. Rest in peace Trinity and Brandon.
