Couple finally welcome daughter after having 14 boys in a row over 28 years

When I look back on my childhood, I do so in amazement that my mother and father managed to raise me and my siblings and keep their sanity intact.

We were three boys, you see, all close in age, and so, as you can imagine, it was no easy task to keep us all in line and ensure we went the right way in life.

Which is why I was stunned to hear of Kateri and Jay Schwandt, who recently welcomed a baby girl into their family … after having 14 boys in a row!

No kidding. As per reports, Kateri and Jay, of Michigan, have 14 sons – Tyler, Zach, Drew, Brandon, Tommy, Vinny, Calvan, Gabe, Wesley, Charlie, Luke, Tucker, Francisco and Finley.

Last week though, a familiar pattern was shattered when they welcomed the 17th member of their not-so-little family: Maggie Jayne.

“We are overjoyed and beyond excited to add Maggie Jayne to our family,” Jay Schwandt told the Detroit Free Press.

“This year has been memorable in so many ways, for so many reasons, but Maggie is the greatest gift we could ever imagine.”

As per CNN, the Schwandts, who married in 1993 after dating as high school freshmen, have their own TV show, 14 Outdoorsmen, but they may now need to reconsider the title after their latest addition.

As if 2020 couldn’t any crazier! We are blessed to welcome and announce the birth of our little SISTER, Maggie Jayne….

Kateri and Jay, both 45, had their first son, Tyler – now 28 – back in 1992. He said that it will likely take a few years for his brothers to adjust to having a girl at home … hardly surprising given the incredible trend in question.

“My parents were finally blessed with the little girl they never thought they’d end up having,” he said. “It’s been about 12 hours since my dad told us, and I still haven’t quite wrapped my mind around it.”

What a truly remarkable family they are! Here’s to wishing them all the happiness in the world moving forward. That little girl certainly isn’t likely to be picked on at school!
