Mother of four Tina lives in Sydney, Australia, and fights just like every other parent to make ends meet. She works in her local supermarket and often takes extra evening shifts to earn more money.
However, there’s something else that occupies her mind most of the time. Her daughter Donna has moved away from home… to another country! It that wasn’t enough, she now lives on an entirely different continent. The United States is Donna’s new home, with her mother having not seen her for a whole year. I can only imagine how difficult this must be for any mom.
With Mother’s Day in Australia quickly approaching, Donna was on Tina’s mind. She was probably trying her best to figure how to celebrate the day without one of her children.
That’s when radio hosts at the local KIIS 1064 station chose to give her an incredible surprise.
It turned out that Donna had called the radio station and explained the whole story to them. Of course, they were taken back and decided to help the daughter create the perfect gift for her mother on what seemed like an ordinary working day.
Now the clip of Tina being surprised has spread around the internet like wildfire. I don’t think it’s difficult to see why.
Tina went to work one day, as normal, and prepared for her shift in the store. This particular day, however, wouldn’t be her average. Quite the opposite, in fact.
The radio station had flown Donna back to Sydney in secret. On that day she was in her mom’s workplace, a smile on her face.
The radio hosts had sent Donna to the store and were simply waiting for the right moment to reunite the pair. Tina would have the surprise of her life when the person in front of her – one she thought was simply another customer asking for help with finding something on the top shelf – was actually her beloved daughter who she had not seen in a year.
