Then, at only five-days-old, her mother’s heart glows when she sees this smile on her face.
Lauren Vinje gave birth to her baby girl prematurely. She was tiny, weighing a mere 3lbs, far below the average for newborns.
The baby was placed in intensive care and struggled to survive – but five days later something just magical occurred.
Lauren managed to capture her daughter boasting the heart melting smile in the photo above. Despite her tough start in life, this tiny baby has managed to spread her sweet courage to the whole internet.
The image has been liked by over 290,000 people and shared more than 37,000 times on Facebook.
“Our first daughter at five days old. 3 lbs. 14 oz., she was happy to be alive! This picture was one I looked at often to get me through the ups and downs of our NICU days. Life is so precious,” mother Lauren writes on Facebook.
Like so many others, this image just made my heart melt. A newborn baby, still so tiny and pure, and inncocent manages to capture the whole world’s heart. Who would have known :)?
