Celebrities seem to have it all: fame, wealth, and influence. But what do people who have everything value the most in life? Well, if you look at what makes these eight celebrities happy, then it’s the simple things in life.
It’s about keeping true to your roots, enjoying simple, homecooked meals with friends and families, staying humble, getting rid of life’s distractions—and most of all—enjoying life’s simple pleasures.
Not only are these eight people incredibly talented and an inspiration, they really know what’s important in life. Scroll down to see what I mean!
1. Mark Zuckerberg
When you’re as wealthy as Mark Zuckerberg, you can afford to buy a new designer outift for every day of the rest of your life. But the Facebook CEO has notably worn the same gray T-shirt to work everyday since he launched his social media company way back when. Why? Zuckerberg doesn’t want to waste brain cells on things that don’t matter to him.
“I really want to clear my life to make it so that I have to make as few decisions as possible about anything except how to best serve this community,” Zuckerberg said in 2014, according to Business Insider.
2. Jennifer Garner
Being a celebrity might get you a seat at the trendiest restaurants, but it doesn’t guarantee you’ll have time for a good homecooked meal.
Jennifer Garner hasn’t let her fame stop her from enjoying life’s simple pleasures. She still shops at regular markets so she can buy the ingredients she needs to make her favorite meals for her and her family.
3. Keanu Reeves
Keanu Reeves is a true inspiration. The humble actor gives generously to charity, wears simple clothes, and even takes the New York City subway whenever he can—to the amazement of his fellow passengers.
4. Tyra Banks
Supermodels might be known for being picky eaters who have to watch everything they put into their bodies so they can keep themselves in runway shape. But Tyra Banks doesn’t let that stop her from enjoying the food she loves at restaurants like the Cheesecake Factory.
5. Steve Jobs
These days, minimalism is becoming all the rage, with people getting rid of the unneccessary things in their lives so they can concentrate on what matters most. This is something Steve Jobs had down to a science, and the late Apple CEO’s trademark outfit of jeans, black turtleneck, and white sneakers were the epitome of simplicity.
6. Ingvar Kamprad
As the founder of Ikea, Ingvar Kamprad helps millions of people design their lives around the principle of simple elegance. When he’s not at work, Kamprad shops sales and sticks to inexpensive products. He stocks his house with products from his stores. He skips first class and flies in economy just like the rest of us. And he’s also driven the same Volvo for the last 15 years.
7. Arnold Schwarzenegger
When you’re a top celebrity, you don’t need to brag, and the best celebs even downplay the things they’ve done in life. Arnold Schwarzenegger, for instance, once saved a man from drowning at a seaside resort. He carried the man 100 meters to shore and never even mentioned it to reporters.
8. Russell Crowe
Being a celebrity doesn’t mean you have to forget your roots and settle down in a mansion in Beverly Hills. Russell Crowe is one of the world’s top actors and lives with his family in his native Australia on a ranch, surrounded by his horses and spacious fields.
Isn’t it refreshing to see how down to earth these celebrities are? It just goes to show you that no how matter how famous you are or how much money you have, living the good life still comes down to enjoying life’s simple pleasures. Share if you agree!
