The heartbreak a child experiences after being taken away from their family home is something six-year-old Aidan knows all about.
His parents’ rights were terminated last year due to neglect.
But if that wasn’t enough heartache for this little Houston boy he was then separated from his siblings.
Aidan’s siblings were all adopted but the families couldn’t take all of them leaving him in foster care.
In a heartbreaking plea for someone to adopt him he told Fox26 News: “I clean up my room, do the dishes and dusting.”
Aidan is a good student and does well at school.
“We need a family that has structure, routine, expectations and to be realistic for their own expectations for him as well,” said Caitlin Brake, from DePelchin Children’s Center.
The center, a nonprofit set up in 1892, is a foster care and adoption agency serving the most vulnerable children and families in Texas.
‘Free college tuition’
Families who adopt and foster through the center get special training and trauma counseling, center staff also provide children’s mental health and child welfare services.
“They would also get free college tuition, monthly financial support and he would also be covered by Medicaid until he turns 18,” added Caitlin.
