I’ve seen lots of videos of US soldiers returning from active duty unannounced and surprising their loved ones. They make me tear up every time, but I have noticed that it’s always the soldiers doing the surprising… This video turns that situation upside down. Oprah Winfrey brought 31 soldiers onto her show to thank them for their service to the country. They had just returned home from a seven-month tour of duty in Iraq. The were exhausted and weary and lined up onstage to receive gratitude from the audience for their heroic efforts. But the soldiers have no idea about what Oprah actually had in store for them. The talk show host said, “And now the moment I’ve been waiting for…” and before the soldier’s knew it, their friends and family poured out onto the stage.
