Many Mississippi residents are seeing snow for the first time and while it might look pretty staring outside from a warm home, it’s causing chaos for many.
Residents are bracing themselves for a possible second winter storm with power outages rising from 17,000 to 200,000, as per the Clarion Ledger.
The weather has wreaked havoc on the roads with downed trees and icy conditions prompting road closures.
But one woman has let none of this put her off from getting to work – a job that we can all agree is essential.
DeShawonte Cooley decided nothing was going to get in the way of her working her shift at a nursing home in Hazlehurst, Mississippi.
According to a post by Pinecrest Guest Home, in order to navigate the slick roads “tough lady” DeShawonte Cooley drove her 4-wheeler from her home in Byram to Hazlehurst – a distance of over 25 miles.
“She loves and cares about her residents,” the post read. “We appreciate you, DeShawonte!!!!”
Police have advised the general public not to drive unless absolutely necessary, as per WLBT.com.
