Grieving son repays kindness by helping families with burst water pipes for free through harsh cold snap

A historic winter storm bringing with it temperatures Texas hasn’t experienced in decades has crippled power facilities and left many with burst water pipes.

As of Wednesday evening 2.3 million homes and businesses were without power leaving many families having to huddle together in homes or cars without heat and water as the state struggles to cope.

But while millions of Texans struggle to stay warm one man decided to make himself useful while he waited for power to be restored to his home.

Raymond Garcia is spending his time helping others, traveling from home to home to fix people’s broken pipes and shut off water to those who want to protect their vital water supply.

PAYING IT FORWARD: Raymond Garcia has gone door-to-door to help his neighbors in need. But aside from the crisis happening around him, he told us there's a personal reason why he's doing what he's doing.

Garcia is not only struggling, like most through these winter storms, he’s also grieving after losing his mom to COVID-19 last week.

But he was so inspired by the support and kindness others showed him through such a tough time in his life, he wanted to do something to help others.

‘I’ve been blessed’

The big-hearted Texan was supposed to bury his mom on Wednesday but instead spent the day helping people struggling during the freak cold snap in a usually warm state.

He’s not even charging for his services.

“My mom always taught me if you help and give to people, God will always bless you. And you know what, I’ve been blessed,” Garcia said, as per ABC13 News.

A 😢💕Sweetheart ♥️. Prayers for the loss of your mom Raymond Garcia. God bless your soul. 🙏🏿❤️💋 ty
