Like humans, dogs have personalities and habits that make each one special and unique. But because they don’t speak our language, it’s not always obvious to everyone why certain dogs do the things they do.
A family in the United States was getting a lot of questions and even complaints from passersby and neighbors because their dog is often up on the roof. But the family’s answers to why their dog is up their stopped the questions and charmed the entire internet.
After passersby repeatedly asked them why their dog was always on the roof, the family thought it was time to explain why.
Huckleberry, as the dog is called, likes to keep an eye on his surroundings and watch his home. He seems to like the view on the roof best. He likes to sit up there and play, just like Huckleberry Finn, writes a user who shared the pictures on Reddit.
Now, the family has put up a note to answer some of the questions that they’ve been getting. And the note just about melted reddit:
“Huckleberry is living up to his name and learned how to jump onto our roof from the backyard. We never leave him in the backyard without someone being at home. He will not jump off unless you entice him with food or a ball!
We appreciate your concern but please do not knock on our door… we know he’s up there! But please feel free to take pictures of him and share with the world! #hucktheroofdog”
