This story just perfectly exemplifies the profound love between a man and his dog. John Unger and his dog Schoep have been together for 19 years. When Schoep grew older, he got arthritis and started to have trouble walking due to the pain.
In order to ease his pain, John began to cary Schoep to a lake nearby everyday, where he could relax. The two would spend hours just floating around in the water.
“It just takes the weight off of his entire body, so whatever aches and pains are there can be alleviated,” John explains.
Schoepp sadly passed away in July 2013, at age 20.
