Cat Abandoned On Street Corner With His Litter Box Shows Up At A Surprising Doorstep.

Last Wednesday, residents of Brooklyn, New York made a startling discovery. In the middle of the street sat a lonely little kitty that had obviously had been abandoned by its owner.

No one had a clue where the cat came from or who had dumped him there. He just sat there crying beside his litter box and other belongings that his owner had left behind with him.

Soon, someone took a picture of the little kitty and posted it to local cat page FAT Cats on Facebook to try and find the owner or someone else who could take care of the cat.

But that would prove easier said than done. For shortly after the picture was taken, a street sweeper frightened the cat as it drove by, causing him to flee the scene.

Several people who had seen the picture on Facebook hit the streets to try to find the little cat, but it was a losing battle. In a city as large as New York, finding him would be like finding a needle in a haystack.

“Due to today’s heat and the amount of construction and noise on Nostrand Ave today, it’s our belief that he is hiding somewhere until things get quieter and cooler,” FAT Cats wrote on its Facebook page.

Then by chance, the cat suddenly turned up. But it wasn’t just anywhere that he decided to make his reappearance. As if by fate, the cat, who had been missing for several days, suddenly appeared outside the door of a retired cat rescuer. As such, Karen Oh didn’t hesitate for a second to take the cat into her home and contact FAT Cats on his behalf.

When the vet examined him later, he didn’t find a microchip, so FAT Cats couldn’t locate his owner. But the cat, now named Nostrand, is at least a year old and was in good health despite what he’s gone through.

Now Nostrand is receiving all the love and security he deserves from FAT Cats, who will ensure that his next owner is a far more responsible and loving person than the person who dumped him in the street.

Whether is was fate or just a lucky kitty, this cat’s rescue story sure warmed my heart. Share if little Nostrand touched your heart, too!

At Newsner, we love animals and believe in treating them with utmost respect. Please like if you do, too.
