Horses are already amazingly beautiful creatures. But this breed is definitely the finest I’ve ever seen.
The Akhal-Teke breed originates from Turkmenistan, and is considered by many to be the most beautiful in the world. Many Akhal-Teke horses appear to have been dipped in gold.
They have incredibly beautiful metallic coats that glisten in the sunlight. They are also reputed for speed and endurance, as well as intelligence.
The breed comes from the province of Akhal in Turkmenistan, and may be the world’s oldest breed of horses. Akhal-Tekes’ ancestors were probably the first horses to be domesticated.
There are currently about 6,600 Akhal-Tekes in the world, mostly in Turkmenistan and Russia, although they are also found throughout Europe and North America.
These gorgeous horses typically stand between 58 and 64 inches (147 and 163 cm) and are adapted to severe climatic conditions.
