When Don proposed to Shannon, two of the things the bride-to-be looked forward to the most at her wedding were having her father walk her down the aisle at the church and sharing the father-daughter dance with her dad at the reception.
But before Shannon and Don could tie the knot, Shannon’s dad was diagnosed with cancer and passed away. Don, being the perfect groom, knew how much Shannon’s dad meant to his future wife and came up with the perfect way to honor her dad’s memory. His idea? Make at least a little of Shannon’s dream wedding come true.
After the couple said their “I do’s,” Don and his sons from a previous warmed up the audience with an epic dance routine. It’s a great watch in its own right, but Don’s real surprise happens at the 3:08 mark. The groom changed the music and began a tearjerking tribute to Shannon’s dad. He accompanied his perfectly chosen song with a handwritten message, and then slipped on a special T-shirt. The touching shirt had “Will You Dance With Me?” written on the back and a photo of Shannon’s dad on the front.
None of the wedding guests could hold back the tears seeing Don step in on behalf of Shannon’s dad.
