Self-taught 16-year-old from the country floors judges with impromptu audition

In 2011, Chooka James Parker appeared on Australia’s Got Talent to compete for the top spot. He was just 16 and lived with his parents on their farm in a small village. His village doesn’t even have its own pub – which gets the jury to laugh.

They ask the teen if he’s going to sing. Chooka responds definitely not. Instead, the country boy is going to play the piano – which he learned to do entirely on his own.

The song he will play? He couldn’t even tell you himself. The plan is to improvise – right then and there, on stage.

Chooka is at his best when he just lets the music inspire him and goes with the flow of his feelings and emotions.

The end result floors the audience, viewers, and in fact the whole country. It left me quite simply speechless. This is pure magic!

Never judge a book by its cover. This brilliant saying certainly applies for Chooka’s spectacular audition. Please share if you were also impressed by this talented 16-year-old!
