Moha Frikraft, 26, from Sweden was born with cerebral palsy. But that hasn’t stopped her from pursuing her dreams—and now the 26-year-old has become an underwear model on a major photography project.
Photographer Tomas Gunnarsson is spearheading a project for Wikimedia Sweden that aims to increase the diversity of the images on Wikipedia. The initiative features people of color, transgender people, and people with physical disabilities.
When Moha, who is wheelchair bound, heard about the project, she didn’t hesitate to sign up.
“I’m passionate about differences and want to help create a new ideal for society where everyone can be a model,” she writes on her blog.
This week marked the opening of the project and Moha’s photos have now been published online.
“It’s now sinking in that I am a wheelchair/underwear model… which I think is just awesome. I’m approximately 5 ft. tall (152cm), my body is crooked and I make involuntary movements,” she adds on her blog.
Moha’s images have already begun to cause a stir on the Internet. In an interview with a local Swedish newspaper, Moha described why she chose to join the project:
“I think it’s good to expose different body types and develop models who are different. It’s about time. Society doesn’t look like normal models. I think it’s good to show that everyone can be a model, and that every body is unique and beautiful. I want to be a role model and show that I exist,” she said.
This brave girl is a not only a fashion model, but a role model, as well. Share Moha’s story if you agree!
